Recently, Heady NJ attended a job fair organized by the Passaic County Department of Economic Development. There were several cannabis employers at the Cannabis Passaic County Job Fair. There was a notable absence (tables unattended by the company reps) from the larger MSOs and a much heavier presence from the smaller cannabis start-ups. Many of these companies were recently approved and licensed by the state of New Jersey.

Deborah Hoffman, Director of Economic Development in, Passaic County of New Jersey, who organized the job fair, told Heady NJ, “We’re thrilled to help the residents of Passaic County interface with cannabis companies here. They’re hiring, and we’re hopeful that they’ll find jobs, and that’s our great… that’s our goal. The legal NJ cannabis market adds over $300 million into the state. It’s an important industry to embrace so our people can have employment. We fully support it.”

When asked if she held any reservations about cannabis coming to New Jersey, Hoffman said, “Embrace it… It is timely change in NJ’s legislation, and we support it very much!”
