Columbia Care’s Cannabist in Vineland Latest Dispensary to Open

Columbia Care Vineland cannabist dispensary Jersey

The Columbia Care Cannabist Vineland medical marijuana dispensary opened in South Jersey in Cumberland County. It became the 11th dispensary to open in New Jersey.

Columbia Care is a large cannabis corporation that is a Multi-State Operator (MSO).

“We’re excited to bring our industry-leading services and exceptional team to a new market, especially at a time when patients need them most,” said Columbia Care CEO Nicholas Vita. “We appreciate the support we have received from the local and state governments and remain committed to creating new jobs.”

Cannabist Dispensary Features

Products include flower, vape topicals, cartridges, and paraphernalia.  Columbia Care’s Cannabist in Vineland has several CBD products as well.

There are only two flower strains available currently. They are vending Nitro Candy Indica 23.11 percent THC and the hybrid School Lunch. Curaleaf is providing both. They opened shortly after Zen Leaf in Elizabeth, which Curaleaf is also supplying.

The problem is that every company needs to grow its flower before they open. Due to federal prohibition, they cannot legally cross state lines, even between two legal states.

Topical creams are becoming increasingly popular to treat aches and pains, especially among older individuals who are seeking relief from the effects of time.

Columbia Care Cannabist Vineland is running a discount whereby you need to apply for the CNC credit card online so you can save 20% on your next purchase. However, the hours are limited. Columbia Care Vineland’s hours are Tuesday to  Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

It is located at 1062 North Delsea Drive in Vineland, NJ. An appointment is currently necessary to visit. Cumberland is in the heart of South Jersey, near Gloucester, Camden, and Atlantic Counties.

Home delivery is not available from the dispensary. The lack of home delivery has been a contentious issue within the cannabis community recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the excessively long wait times that have occurred, in part due to the need for social distancing.

Cannabist Dispensary in Vineland

This is the latest dispensary to open in New Jersey’s medical marijuana (or medical cannabis) program (MMP) to open. They received their application approval to do so in 2018 and were approved to grow earlier this year.

As one of only three operators licensed to dispense in the southern region of New Jersey, Columbia Care’s Cannabist Vineland facility will allow them to address the underserved population in the state. The dispensary will be supported by a 50,000 sq. ft. cultivation and manufacturing facility.

They expect to harvest their first crop in July.

There are curbside and express pickup options in the Cannabist Vineland store.

“With the grand opening of this facility, the services they provide will have a significant impact on patients suffering from certain medical disorders or debilitating conditions,” said Vineland Mayor Anthony Fanucci.

New Jersey Cannabis Issues

Like all dispensaries in New Jersey, they cannot help patients from other states. There are now 77,000 patients in the NJ Medical Marijuana Program (NJ MMP.)

As a whole, most New Jersey dispensaries are unpopular for vending low-quality, expensive cannabis. The COVID-19 pandemic only worsened the situation. Recently, complaints were heard about a seed from flower bought at a state dispensary. However, dispensaries were declared essential and allowed to remain open while many other stores were forced to close. So many pointed to that as a bright spot.

Columbia Care is a Multi-State Operator (MSO) with locations in New York, Arizona, California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Overall, they have eighteen locations.

There are now nine companies operating at 11 medical cannabis dispensaries in New Jersey:

  1. Columbia Care in Vineland
  2. Verano in Elizabeth
  3. Greenleaf Compassion Center of Montclair
  4. The Botanist (Compassionate Care Foundation) of Egg Harbor
  5. The Botanist in Atlantic City
  6. Garden State Dispensary (GSD) of Woodbridge
  7. GSD in Union Township
  8. Breakwater Alternative Treatment Center of Cranbury
