Silver Leaf NJ MPX NJ NJ medical cannabis dispensaries Brute's Roots open in Sicklerville Egg Harbor

Silver Leaf NJ, Brute’s Roots, and MPX NJ have opened the 38th, 39th, and 40th New Jersey medical cannabis dispensaries.

Pharmacists Open Silver Leaf NJ

Silver Leaf NJ did a soft opening of their dispensary at 1743 NJ-27 in Somerset in Franklin Township in Somerset County this week.

They were among the New Jersey medical cannabis companies licensed in the 2019/2021 round. They won a license to open in Central Jersey.

Silver Leaf NJ is owned by Indian American women from New Jersey, Jessy Vikani and Toral Patel. Vikani is the CEO. Toral Patel is the Chief Compliance Officer. She won an adult-use cannabis dispensary license from the NJCRC last September in her own right as New Era Dispensary Founder and CEO. Nirmit Patel is the President. Vikani is Nirmit’s wife. Basni Vadalia is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Vikani and Nirmit are also trying to open a Nirvana Dispensary in Mt Laurel in Burlington County as an adult-use cannabis dispensary.

“The reason we applied for a medical license, pharmacist by trade, myself and the owners, we always wanted to prioritize medical patients in the state of New Jersey,” Nirmit said.

Selling Quality Medical Cannabis Products

Silver Leaf NJ is working with several established brands from licensed companies. A few companies now have white labeling deals with licensed cannabis companies. Thus, out-of-state brands can easily enter the New Jersey cannabis market without the hassle of red tape or learning local laws. Mike Tyson and Cookies are the most notable examples of this.

While Silver Leaf NJ has a sufficient supply of products to sell to New Jersey medical cannabis patients, Patel lamented the lack of quality products in the New Jersey medical cannabis market.

“We really want to work more with local cultivators and growers. But unfortunately, they’re not in the market right now,” Patel explained. “Our whole goal with this pharmacy is to educate, educate, educate on cannabis, how it interacts with medications, what they should do, what they should not do.”

Cannabis education is not widespread. Most do not know the terpenes that could help them.

“Ever since New Jersey went recreational, it feels almost like the medical patients have not been prioritized. They have very limited hours when they can go. There’s not much out there.”

Nirmit noted the lack of state tax and a wider selection of cannabis products incentivize some patients.

NJ Medical Cannabis Dispensary Compliance Issues

A few cannabis corporations in New Jersey have been fined twice for not prioritizing patients.

Nirmit explained it took them a while to open due to the need to follow New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJCRC) compliance. Among other issues, they had to do a training that took time to schedule due to the lack of trainers available.

“They just don’t have enough human power,” Nirmit said.

The Silver Leaf NJ budtenders have experience working at other New Jersey medical cannabis dispensaries. Their passion for the plant shows.

Nirmit vouched for Green Stop Wellness owners in Jersey City during their Cannabis Control Board hearing. They had been working for Silver Leaf NJ and helping them launch.

Brute’s Roots NJ Medical Dispensary Opens

Brute’s Roots opened the 39th New Jersey medical cannabis dispensary in Egg Harbor Township in South Jersey. They’re at 6206 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234. It’s in Atlantic County. According to their website, they are a local Woman-owned company.

Brute’s Roots was awarded a vertically integrated cannabis license in the 2019/2021 round under the name Greenhouse Wellness. Thus, in addition to opening a dispensary, they can grow medical cannabis and manufacture products. They were approved by the NJCRC to change their name.

The President is Kelly Gatto. She described being a nurse and a real estate agent on her LinkedIn page.

According to their LinkedIn page, they have a 35,000 sq ft cannabis cultivation facility in Winslow in Camden County. On Brute’s Roots Facebook page, they picture Gatto and owner Jim DiNatale touring their facility last October. DiNatale, under the company  RGC 2 LLC, received approval from the Camden County Planning Board for the facility. In 2018, DiNatale sought to open a dispensary in Pleasantville near Egg Harbor.

As the 2019/2021 New Jersey medical cannabis license winners open, they are getting the ability to sell adult-use cannabis. Exclusive New Jersey adult-use cannabis companies are opening soon as well.

MPX NJ Opens Satellite in Sicklerville in Gloucester Township
