1st NJ Dispensary Near Me in Elmwood Park

“Elmwood was very involved and very cooperative. We are the 1^st dispensary in town,” Urvesh noted. “Everything was able to work out.”

“We’re trying to help the bakery next store,” he added. “There hasn’t been any traffic in the strip mall. We’re hoping to be the anchor store.”

“Jersey was the first around me that was legal. My next on the list is Delaware and Pennsylvania,” UP noted.

Urvesh said Digan is from Edison in Middlesex County. Digan registered the business to operate in West Orange. He initially worked in Delaware and the alcohol industry and launched Bonds Tavern in West Orange, which he sold to his uncle.

They looked at a few towns and found a great location in a strip mall that was kind of dead with a lot of parking.

Urvesh noted consuming in college made him want to get into the industry.

“It was like frowned up and now it’s legal. It’s in the retail space. Just switch our focus,” he added.

Urvesh and Digan are Hindu Indian Americans. In the Hindu religion “Om” is a significant symbol and sacred chant.

“Cannabis is very, very frowned upon,” Urvesh noted.

He is working to fight the stigma.

Entrepreneurial Background Helps to Open NJ Dispensary Near Me

Urvesh owned liquor stores and tobacco shops previously as a serial entrepreneur.

“If this was my first business ever, it would have been very hard to survive,” he said.

“We’re very community-oriented, period. I usually partner with local little leagues or football teams or soccer teams,” Urvesh noted.

His businesses have also sponsored food drives and a Drive-in movie theater.

“We’re at the store every single day now. We’re independent owner-operators. We like to be at our businesses. We like to know our consumers,” he added.

Urvesh noted after just a couple weeks of operating, they already have regular customers whose names they know.

In the future, he is interested in opening up a consumption lounge.

4/20 Deal of $30 for an Eighth of Bogo Flower from MSO Columbia Care

Ohm Theory is holding an early 4/20 sale of the corporate Multi-State Operator (MSO) Columbia Care’s eighth of an ounce of cannabis flower for $30.

“It’s some of the cheapest flower in the state,” Urvesh declared.

He had a connection with senior Columbia Care executives since both were previously in the alcohol industry which made it easier to make a deal.

“It’s competing almost with the street price! $30 an 8^th is almost unheard of,” Urvesh declared.

He argued it’s a safer product due to the NJCRC’s safety precautions and lab testing.

Lemon 22 Dispensary Opens in Scotch Plains.

Lemon 22 Dispensary recently opened in Scotch Plains in Union County.

They previously operated the Chilin’ Out Smoke Shop on the site. Dan and Michelle Lemon own it. Lemon 22 won its annual NJ dispensary cannabis annual license needed to open last August.

  They posted a message on Facebook explaining their background.

“According to our state investigator, we are the most mom-and-pop shop of any dispensary he knows of that has opened in the state. We entered into this industry up against significant competition from Multi-State Operators (right here in town), special interest groups, millionaires, and billionaires (right here in town). We will be part of the absolutely necessary effort to drive down ⬇️the price,” they explained.

Their post also said Michelle grew up in Scotch Plains. In addition they operated Chillin’ Out for almost 15 years and the You Need Coffee shop for 10 years.

Lemon 22 emphasized the work that the couple put in was significant.

“We designed our shop by ourselves to feel like home and be a comfortable shopping experience for the public. A dispensary does not need to look like an expensive purse or watch store inside of the Short Hills Mall,” they declared.

They also noted they have donated to local fundraisers and participated in Scotch Plains community events.

Initially, it was called Lemon 22 LLC, and then they changed it to Lemon 22 Dispensary.
