Legal Cannabis in NYC

Housing Works Cannabis Co. is a social enterprise operated by the non-profit organization Housing Works. It provides housing and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS.

The dispensary will provide a safe and legal source of cannabis for adult consumers. It will also generate revenue to support Housing Works’ vital services.

The opening of Housing Works Cannabis Co. marks the beginning of a new era for cannabis in New York City. Prior to legalization, the possession and sale of marijuana were illegal and heavily policed. It disproportionately impacts low-income communities and communities of color.

Legalization will not only provide a safe and regulated source of cannabis, but it will also create new economic opportunities and generate much-needed tax revenue for the state.

In addition to providing access to cannabis, Housing Works Cannabis Co. is committed to promoting social justice and equity in the industry.

Housing Works has implemented a “last mile” delivery program to serve underserved communities, and it will also provide job training and employment opportunities to individuals who have been disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs.

Housing Works Cannabis Co.

As the first licensed legal cannabis shop to open in New York City, Housing Works Cannabis Co. is setting a high bar for responsible and socially conscious cannabis retail. The state strictly regulates the dispensary to ensure that all products are safe and accurately labeled. It is also committed to providing a welcoming and informative experience for all customers.

The opening of Housing Works Cannabis Co. marks a major milestone for cannabis in New York City and serves as a model for other states looking to legalize and regulate marijuana.

With a focus on social justice and equity, the dispensary is helping to pave the way for a more inclusive and responsible cannabis industry.
