Boardwalk Budz Plans Post-COVID AC NJ Cannabis Conference

Atlantic City Cannabis Boardwalk Budz NJ cannabis conference

Boardwalk Budz’s Atlantic City cannabis conference at the Showboat Casino on the boardwalk from June 25th to 27th will be the biggest NJ cannabis conference since the beginning of COVID.

Boardwalk Budz will be a three-day event featuring industry lectures, cannabis vendors (among others), live music, pro wrestling, comedy shows, food trucks, and nightclubs. It will run Friday from 2 PM to 11 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 11 PM.

“I wanted to make it accessible for everybody,” conference organizer Chad Minnes of Geek Time Entertainment said, noting patients, consumers, and prospective consumers can all enjoy Boardwalk Budz.

Gearing up for Boardwalk Budz

Ten seminars will be presented (including one led by me, Dan Ulloa!). Prominent cannabis accountant Harry Carpenter of Citrin Cooperman and lawyer Nikolas Komyati will present a policy discussion.

In addition, among those speaking is Dan Jensen of Code 3 Outreach, which sells apparel and focuses on cannabis access for veterans and first responders.

Also, a representative from the company First Republic Seeds will discuss growing. Mark Sutton will discuss African American Culture and issues, and cannabis advocate Dan Levine from California will also present a lecture. The list of presenters is still growing.

There will be 150 vendor tables inside promoting products and advertising. Among them will be cannabis vendors, including smoke shops, glassmakers, glass blowers, and cannabis t-shirt companies. There will be cannabis yoga in the morning as well.

A movie room will screen 4/20 movies, including the cult classic Reefer Madness and a series of horror movies where cannabis plays a part.

A ticket includes access to the convention floor with vendors, live music, karaoke, speed dating, and an adult game room. There will also be a smoking deck for those looking to partake.

Minnes said it’s been “very exciting” planning the Boardwalk Budz conference.

“To be first to market is kind of cool as well,” he said about the conference.

Minnes is an experienced events promoter and manager. Under the Geek Time Entertainment banner, he presents wrestling, comedy, and car shows in the past in Atlantic City. Originally from Ocean County, he lives in Pleasantville, near Atlantic City.

Unique NJ Cannabis Conference Features

The concert section will have 30 bands play Bob Marley and Grateful Dead covers. Outside, there will be 20 food trucks.

In addition to the cannabis content, Boardwalk Budz will feature six wrestling shows and two comedy shows.

Minnes said the conference “will have a little bit of everything.”

The Showboat casino, where the conference is being held, opened a very large video arcade.

Minnes decided to host an NJ cannabis conference as the laws were changing. He said he “wanted to produce an event where people to “forget about the real world and enjoy themselves.”

He is excited about pioneering a new sort of conference with Boardwalk Budz.
