A dispensary in Irvington in Essex County in North Jersey caught on fire and was burnt severely over the weekend. Unfortunately, it has been closed for now.

The fire is still under investigation. It’s unclear how it started. It also has not been reported whether the products in their vault were affected.

Two firefighters were unfortunately injured, according to ABC 7’s Eyewitness News. The fire took place on Saturday, beginning around 3:30 AM. So thankfully, no one was injured.

On Instagram, the company Flowerbomb Dispensary promised they would return. However, very unfortunately, “Doors Closed for Now. Forever thankful to our community” was the caption of the picture.

According to Ark Republic, Firebomb dispensary owner Shawn Henry is a Black Social Equity entrepreneur. Their Grand Opening was in July 2025 according to their Instagram video.

Irvington, like many places, thought it a good idea to make two legal dispensaries very close together compete on Clinton Avenue.

They are not the only city to be too short-sighted and/or indifferent to creating a knife-fight-like effort between the two places to thrive.

The NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) awarded them the annual dispensary license needed to open legally in March 2024. They won a conditional license in December 2022.

The fire has become national news in other cannabis media.
