From the recent Canna Camp to canna-cocktails to game nights, comedy, festivals, and 4/20 weekends, NJ Cannabis events are getting bigger, weirder, and more fun.

If Canna Camp 2026 taught us anything, New Jersey weed events are done being boring.
Heady NJ’s own coverage from Sparta showed what the new version can look like: a cannabis gathering on Renaissance Fair grounds with tents, food, vendors, a tattoo artist, infused food, pizza and wings trucks, and people hanging out instead of just walking past a folding table.
And that is only one flavor. Heady NJ’s 2026 calendar has included paint-and-puff nights, comedy, game nights, cannabis cups, dispensary parties, a bud crawl in Atlantic City, a concert, yoga, movie nights, tasting events, and festivals.
That is the fun part of where New Jersey cannabis is going. The weed might get people through the door. The experience is what gives them a reason to stay.
NJ Weed Is Now Big Enough to Support a Real Event Economy
New Jersey cannabis sales have climbed fast. The state reported about $556 million in medicinal and recreational sales in 2022, roughly $800 million in 2023, and crossed $1 billion in 2024. The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission said nearly $860 million was sold in just the first three quarters of 2025.
And the market is still moving. In April 2026, New Jersey recorded almost $109 million in monthly cannabis sales – the highest monthly total the Commission had reported – and about 20% more than April 2025.
Once an industry gets this large, events stop being a side activity. Brands, dispensaries and organizers need reasons for people to show up, bring friends, take photos, eat something, hear music and remember the night.

4/20 Is Turning into a Whole Weekend
The 4/20 numbers make the shift even easier to see. New Jersey reported just under $12.5 million in cannabis sales over the 2024 4/20 weekend. In 2025, the weekend reached $13.8 million, while April 20th itself accounted for $3.9 million.
Translation: 4/20 is not just one shopping day anymore. It is becoming a reason to make plans.
That is exactly what New Jersey organizers are already doing – spreading celebrations across multiple days with parties, cups, concerts, pop-ups, tastings, lounges, and other experiences.

South Jersey Is Already Showing the Formula
Heady NJ has already been part of this shift. Its South Jersey Canna Blooming show and party in West Berlin mixed a live cannabis discussion with music, food and a real party atmosphere. The lineup included canna-cocktail mocktails, legal samples, flower, food vendors, and entertainment.
That matters because West Berlin sits right in Camden County, where cannabis businesses, party venues and ordinary event infrastructure can overlap. On the party-planning side, KlikParty’s New Jersey marketplace also reaches South Jersey towns including Barrington, Cherry Hill Township, Pennsauken, West Berlin, Sewell and Sicklerville.
Barrington is especially close to the Haddon area – only about two miles from Haddonfield – which makes it a natural local example of how regular party-rental infrastructure can sit right next to a growing cannabis-event market.
The Secret Ingredient Is Everything Around Weed
From the planning side, a memorable cannabis event still needs the same boring-but-important stuff as every other great party: the right venue, weather backup, tents, tables, chairs, lounge furniture, lighting, sound, food, decor, entertainment, and something worth taking a picture of.
KlikParty collects those kinds of planning details from hosts – location, date, guest count, budget, event type, and the combination of rentals or services they need. The cannabis part may be unique, but the event logistics are surprisingly familiar.

A “Cannabis Event” Can Mean Almost Anything Now
The most interesting part is that there is no single format anymore. A dispensary can do a comedy night. A chef pairing. A DJ session. A mocktail lounge. A movie night. A wellness morning. A game night. A rooftop party. A tasting. A full outdoor festival.
Heady NJ’s own event coverage already proves the point. Canna Camp used a huge outdoor setting. The South Jersey party mixed a show with food, music, and cannabis. Atlantic City conventions have spilled into happy hours and parties. Consumption lounges are creating even more places where people can stay instead of simply buying something and leaving.
The best cannabis event does not have to feel like a cannabis trade show. It can just feel like a genuinely good Saturday.
The Next Cannabis Winner Might Be Really Good at Throwing Parties
New Jersey now has hundreds of licensed cannabis businesses and a legal market large enough that being another place with products on a shelf is not much of a personality.
Experiences give operators another way to compete. A great event can introduce a brand, create social content, bring people back, turn customers into a community, and make a dispensary or venue feel like a destination.
Cannabis got people through the door. Now the fun part is figuring out what happens after they get there.
