Stockton University Cannabis Studies Professor Robert Mejia has launched his brand called Garden State OG, which recently released Roll PrideTM cannabis pre-rolls.

Pride Pre-Roll Joints
Currently, New Jersey dispensaries are offering the product in single-pack, 1-gram pre-rolls featuring the White Runtz cannabis strain cultivar. Mejia plans to add other strains and quantities in the future. The Roll Pride pre-rolls can be found in the following NJ cannabis dispensaries:
- Red Oak Dispensary in Absecon- $12 ($10.20 on sale).
- Molly Ann Farms Dispensary in Haledo – $11.
- BestBuds NJ in Woodbury – $11.
- Brotherly Bud in Mt. Ephraim – $11 ($8.25 on sale).
Mejia chose these independent dispensaries in order to help them gain recognition. He also does not wish to sell his products in dispensaries clustered together to refrain from causing competition between businesses.
According to Mejia, the criteria he is using to select dispensaries to carry his products are:
- Community Engagement
- Education, and
- LGBTQ+ Support.
Roll Pride is affordable. Currently, prices range from $11-12, while other products range from $18-25 plus.
Mejia hopes to keep prices affordable, “…because I also do want to keep it at a very good price point, so that it can be affordable to anybody who wants it.”

Working with Red Oak to Make Pre-Rolls
To ensure the quality of his product stays consistent, Mejia is working hand-in-hand with the manufacturer Red Oak, with a sort of production deal.
He did in-person inspections of the facilities, which allowed him to see the machines that would be producing his product, and knowing that they were getting trusted and tested products.
A successful first year, according to Mejia, would be to keep the product on the shelf and gain some brand recognition. Additionally, Mejia’s role as an educator allows him to bring the history of the cannabis community and the connection to student consumers’ wants and needs into consideration when creating products.
Mejia is also fundraising for Stockton University’s Garden State OG Scholarship, which provides awards to students pursuing a degree in Stockton’s Hemp and Cannabis Studies program.
“If I’m able to make any money from Roll Pride, I’ll put that into the scholarship too. Because that is one of my big goals right now, is to fully fund that endowed scholarship. So that even when I’m long gone from Stockton, that can continue on and that people who need,” he explained.
Cannabis Garden State OG Roll Pride Pre-Rolls
Due to being unable to trademark cannabis products, Mejia created apparel and tobacciana products before creating his pre-rolls.
His two youngest sons, who identify with the LGBTQ+ community, largely influenced the creation of Roll Pride. Mejia wanted to create a product that showed his sons that he was listening to and seeing them, that he had designed something with them in mind. Additionally, startling data on the number of LGBTQ+ youth and young people who are kicked out of their homes influenced Mejia’s importance of tying this product to the LGBTQ+ community.
The initial intent was to release the pre-roll line during Pride Month in June. Due to timeline issues, they released it at the end of June 2026.
However, this brand will remain on shelves year-round. Mejia plans to give 10% back to local LGBTQ+ community causes and organizations, such as the Trans Equity Coalition.
He recently spoke at the Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA) conference in Jersey City and released a book on cannabis.
