Grön has entered the New Jersey cannabis market with help from the large Multi-State Operator (MSO) MPX/iAnthus. They recently introduced Tart Cherry weed gummies to help with sleep.
“We believe in exploring the effects of minor cannabinoids and infusing them into our products to take advantage of the functional properties of the cannabis plant,” said Christine Smith, CEO and Founder of Grön (pronounced grewn).
Most of the companies across the state-legal cannabis companies don’t have female founders or CEOs.
Their new product has an interesting flavor since it is tart. So, it’s like a sweet and sour candy. The cherry part is fun if you like cherry-flavored candy.
Like all the weed gummies in the market, they are only 10 mg of THC, the cannabinoid that gets you high,* in a gummy. There are 10 gummies in a can for 100 mg of THC per jar, and other types of containers are sold.
Only 10 mg per weed gummy is low compared to some products in the underground legacy market. But people who are more casual consumers who don’t want to get too high and know their limits like the low-dose products.
Tart Cherry Pearls by Grön
Tailored for nighttime use, the Tart Cherry Pearls produce a calming effect. It makes them an ideal choice for those seeking a good night’s sleep.
Tart Cherry’s tasty fruit flavor and unique cannabinoid composition contain a blend of 2.5mg of THC per Pearl (25mg per package) and 25mg of TruCBN™ per Pearl (250mg per package).
Grön’s Tart Cherry Pearls come in a 10:1 (TruCBN™:THC) ratio. Most of the focus is on the soothing, sedative properties of the cannabinoid CBN. With these two cannabinoids combined, Tart Cherry Pearls are good for consumers seeking a mellow and restful night of sleep and relaxation.
Like other cannabis gummies designed to help you sleep, it could be a natural alternative for sleep aids without the side effects associated with over-the-counter options available in the market.
More Weed Gummies Available in NJ
If you don’t like cherry, they make other flavors. Tart Cherry is just the latest addition to the Grön group of Sugar-Coated Pearls gummies available in a range of flavors.
It is joining the line of Grön Pearls, with flavors and cannabinoid ratios. They range from Peach Prosecco blended with CBD for a balanced and bubbly mood to Blueberry Lemonade. It is blended with CBG for daytime activities and everything in between.
They also have pomegranate flavored weed gummies which is a very unique flavor. In addition, Grön produces orange flavored gummies as well in their Pearls line.
They claim their ingredients are organic, single-origin, Fair Trade Certified, and locally sourced whenever possible.
Consumers can check out the Grön product locator to find legal, adult-use cannabis retailers, ensuring compliance with local cannabis regulations.
They plan to expand their product line to eight flavors and various cannabinoid ratios.
Corporate Research Study Done
According to Grön’s press release, a study was done by Radicle Science in collaboration with cannabis scientists at FloraWorks. Researchers sought to scientifically explore and verify the efficacy of TruCBN™.
More than 1,000 volunteers from the U.S., each experiencing difficulties with sleep, participated in the study.
The study found that participants who took 25, 50, and 100mg of TruCBN™ all showed a significant improvement in sleep compared to placebo groups, with 50mg of TruCBN™ having the greatest clinically meaningful improvement in their sleep out of any groups, including the melatonin group.
The study also found that there were no significant side effects between any dose of TruCBN™ compared to the placebo group.
Overall, the study provides strong clinical proof that TruCBN™, formulated by FloraWorks, is an effective sleep aid.
“We’re very excited about the science-backed research on FloraWorks’ TruCBN™. And we’re proud to be able to add Tart Cherry to our product line,” Smith said.
“Grön is ushering in a new era in the cannabis edibles market with the launch of their Tart Cherry Pearls,” FloraWorks CEO Allen Lindquist claimed. “This is one of the first products to contain FloraWorks TruCBN™ which has been clinically validated to improve sleep quality.”
Heady NJ has done its own research on Grön’s Cherry Tart Pearl gummies and found they do indeed help.
In general, sleep can be very difficult if one is very stressed though, which can make any sleeping aid less effective.
Trademarked CBN Cannabinoid Product
With Tart Cherry, Grön introduces a new cannabinoid to its line of products, TruCBN™.
“While THC and CBD are the most common, the plant can offer us so much more, and we want to provide those properties to our customers,” Smith explained.
They are really big on the trademark. Grön considers it a proprietary CBN product. That means if you imitate it, they will go after you.
MSO White Labeler
They are a small MSO with products also available in Oregon, New York, Arizona, Missouri, and Canada.
So the company made deals with licensed large MSOs, so they are a type of super white labeler. They went a step above and brought their formulas and recipes, and maybe ingredients, along with their brand, to the table.
Many white labelers just bring their brand to slap on the jar of a product.
So, Grön has not gone through the blood, sweat, and tears to have the great distinction of being a New Jersey cannabis license holder.
However, they have tried to charm and ingratiate their way into the New Jersey cannabis industry. For example, they had a table with stuff at the MJ Unpacked cannabis industry convention after party in Atlantic City and other places.
In addition, when you start with so few choices to begin with, it is fun to see some progress.
Growing the New Jersey Cannabis Market
The small selection of New Jersey cannabis flower and other products has increased slowly in the last 12 months. However, about 100 dispensaries opened during that time. It takes a lot less money and effort, though, to open a dispensary versus growing and making products.
Most of the weed flower and cannabis products available in legal dispensaries got there with help from a large MSO. Indeed, they have many different kinds of brands different from the names of their dispensary, manufacturing, and cultivation brands.
