Two cannabis dispensary licenses were renewed at a strange, special meeting of the NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC).
At the beginning of the meeting, Commissioner Harris Laufer was surprised that people had signed up to speak during the public comment period.
Acting Executive Director Christopher Riggs explained that two annual license renewals were up:
- Green Oasis Dispensary NJ LLC
- A-Z Supply Inc
“Staff is recommending the board renew these licenses today,” he said.
NJ-CRC Vice Chair Krista Nash noted businesses must submit a renewal application for their annual legal licenses 90 days before the expiration date.
“Please, please, please prepare in advance…,” she added.
The NJ-CRC approved them 3-0, with NJCRC Chair Dianna Houenou absent.
It was not explained why or how a special meeting needed to be called.
The noon meeting was only available to those who used Zoom and was over by 12:30 PM. It was later posted on YouTube.
A-Z is a dispensary in Bloomfield in North Jersey, while Green Oasis is in Atco in South Jersey
During the pubic comment period, many criticized the Jersey Strong/Mollitiam growing license suspension and the shady actions of NJ Cannalytics, which was threatened with license suspension at their meeting last week.
The Dispensary Guy Mike went into the details and implications of it on his live show.
In addition, dealing with the new intoxicating hemp phased-in ban-law was also noted to be an issue for small hemp farmers.
