The Flower & Flame dispensary held a Sneaker Convention Canna Pop-Up in Blackwood in South Jersey that fused sneaker culture and cannabis.
Dispensary Sneaker Convention
They were thrilled to host an event that combined the passions of sneaker enthusiasts and cannabis lovers in their vibrant and welcoming dispensary.
People were buying, selling, and trading shoes at the dispensary.
The team curated an experience filled with sneaker vendors, top cannabis brands, exclusive giveaways, and great food. Attendees connected with cannabis enthusiasts and sneakerheads alike, who explored unique products and enjoyed the community and culture.
The one-of-a-kind pop-up was a gathering of culture, style, and shared passion and the first of many upcoming events at Flower & Flame Dispensary. The pop-up was spearheaded by the creativity and vision of Flower & Flame General Manager Brielle Rolon. The event was a testament to her passion for sneaker culture and cannabis.
“We’re always looking at ways to bring fresh, community-focused events to the cannabis space,” Joshua Wing, President of Flower & Flame dispensary, explained.
He said Rolon thought the cannabis and sneaker cultures could be combined in a unique pop-up.
“There clearly is some correlation there,” Wing noted. “We all had a whole wall of sneaker vendors selling really interesting and unique sneakers.”
“It was… something that hadn’t been done before,” he argued.
On the other side of the place were cannabis brand ambassadors from GTI and Simply Herb.
Wing said different sneaker vendors sold collectible, high-end sneakers.
“It’s a whole movement,” he noted.
Wing explained they worked with the sneaker influencer Jus Nice, who is planning a sneaker convention at the Philadelphia Flyers arena.
“There’s a culture that seeks out these unique sneakers and will pay a premium,” he added.
Old Bank Provides Unique Space
“We built a space that’s super welcoming,” Wing declared.
He explained they took over an old TD Bank. Wing said his wife, who is the CEO, wanted to create a welcoming space where people could find education and examine their goods.
“We want people to take their time,” he explained.
Wing said their specialist clerks or budtenders are highly educated and were in the medical marijuana program.
“The community’s really bought in,” he noted.
Wing said they seek to showcase leading independents like Garden Greens as well as large Multi-State Operator (MSO brands like GTI Rhythm. He said sales of flower from the new craft grower Full Tilt Labs are going well.
Flower and Flame Pre-Rolls
Notably, Flower & Flame has an in-house line of pre-rolls.
“We’re thrilled to keep pushing the envelope and offering unique experiences,” Wing exclaimed.
He said he previously worked in product development in the industry in California and Colorado, so he spent a lot of time developing their pre-rolls. Wing established manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
They sell Indica, Hybrid, and Sativa pre-rolls.
“They’ve been selling incredibly well,” Wing declared.
He said they are the most popular pre-roll.
“It’s about, ya know, providing a quality product at an affordable price,” Wing noted.
He said they do have a manufacturing license but they made a deal to get the pre-rolls. Their manufacturer is a new one called LoveGrow in Mount Holly, and they used flower from the MSO Columbia Care.
Wing noted the cost of legal New Jersey cannabis products is considered significant by many consumers.
Flower & Flame Dispensary
The Flower & Flame dispensary is located in Blackwood in Gloucester Township in Camden County in South Jersey.
Flower & Flame is a minority-owned and woman-owned adult-use dispensary dedicated to providing an inclusive and welcoming space for cannabis consumers.
Wing claimed they are the first independently-owned dispensary with in-house pre-rolls and among the first dispensaries in NJ to open a drive-thru.
They are committed to creating educational and enjoyable experiences for all. They opened this past March 2024, according to ROI.com.
“We want every person who comes through our doors to feel welcome and comfortable. We encourage our customers to engage with our consultants, ask questions, and explore which products may be right for them,” CEO Krystal Boodram-Wing said in a prepared statement.
Self-Reliant Minority Owned Business
Wing noted it took them two years to open, like many companies.
“We’re 100 percent family-owned and self-funded,” he declared.
Wing called the company a Mom and Pop operated by himself, his wife, his brother, and his sister as the senior executives. He noted finding a good location was the hardest point.
Regarding his background, Wing said he has been in technology for 25 years professionally, and his wife was a senior executive in an educational organization. In addition, his dad is in real estate.
“We’re able to be blessed enough to pull our resources. It’s not easy,” he said. “We’ve been very lucky.”
Wing noted having relatives who are lawyers helped a lot.
“It’s very much an uphill battle,” he said about opening.
The NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJCRC) approved them adding new owners during their September meeting. They received their annual dispensary license needed to open at their October 2023 meeting.
Flower & Flame got local approval from Gloucester Township to open in August 2023.
