With the dawn of a new Nintendo Switch console finally upon us, video games are rightfully re-entering the conversation. There are many great ones to play high.
Table of Contents
There are a ton of modern games that bring excitement, captivating visuals, and engaging stories to our screens. Some companies make chill ‘cozy’ games, specializing in calm aesthetics and lo-fi vibes.
We compiled a list of games that cover these categories but also break past them. It isn’t easy to create a game that stoners can agree is worth sharing their high with. So these featured games are definitely worthy of love.
1. Mario Kart World Tour
A great new Switch 2 exclusive is Mario Kart World Tour! The newest Mario Kart is ALL over social media and live gaming channels, with everyone showing off their incredible racing skills (or lack thereof). Mario Kart has long held first place in the rankings of communal gaming.
It has genuinely captivating landscapes and courses made by over 120 artists. The latest installment brings an open-world element to the Mario racing universe.
You’re able to actually drive off the track and cruise all around! Enjoy sitting back and driving safely when you do it high in the video game. Mario Kart World Tour offers exactly that.
The roster of playable characters has quadrupled too. So, it allows you to select some truly random and hilarious racers. You can make chaos as the Cow from Moo Moo Meadows or as a Dolphin on a sports bike. Laugh and fight between bong rips in this fast-paced game.
2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The new Nintendo Switch 2 is a sleek system that’s perfect for multiplayer gaming. Grab some friends for a smoke sesh and play the final game on our list- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Players can fight as the legendary Princess Zelda, Mario, the Pokémon Pikachu, and Sora from Kingdom Hearts, among many others. You might not have gotten to play the other Nintendo games these minor characters are from. So can be your exploration into them.
3. Split Fiction
Split Fiction is a new hit from the creators of ‘It Takes Two’. It gives players another memorable co-op adventure.
The game has a wild plot that feels shroom-induced: two bestie video game programmers become trapped in their sci-fi/fantasy worlds. Players 1 and 2 will have to work together, leaping over each other, over ogres, or riding a bike through cyberspace. Split Fiction is best played with a partner by your side!
4. Rollercoaster Tycoon
A great game that holds up surprisingly well is Rollercoaster Tycoon. The OG theme park simulator is available on PS5, Xbox, Steam, and Switch.
This game’s great on an edible. You can feel like a god overlooking your theme park’s humble patrons. You may also want to drop mean guests into fatal pools, which is a cathartic experience that I can’t recommend enough.
5. Super Monkey Ball
Another throwback that’s been releasing new content every few years is the Sega-owned brand, Super Monkey Ball. You may remember this series, where you roll around as a monkey in, you guessed it, super balls.
The Nintendo Switch 2 E-shop has a few SMB titles, so the one I recommend most is Banana Blitz. It has all the old levels from the GameCube days, offering trippy visuals and tough challenges. This game is beloved for being exciting without being overwhelming, something any stoner will appreciate.
6. Cookulo
Cookulo is a virtual kitchen and cooking simulator with a hand-drawn style that’s pleasant on the eyes.
It lets you put ingredients together with a click of a button and make them into a meal, so you can learn about cooking without getting up from your couch. Sure, you may burn a few million things on your digital stove, but at least you’ll have fun along the way.
7. Animal Crossing
The pinnacle of cozy gaming, Animal Crossing plays almost twice as fast on Switch 2. So, there is no annoying buffering and lengthy loading screens. Now the game runs smoothly like canna-butter! Friends with their own system can visit your island, letting you run around together without wasting a lick of energy. If we truly smoke to escape, playing Animal Crossing is an excellent place to get lost in.
Whether you’re smoking alone or passing a bong, consider throwing on a video game to boost your experience. Immerse yourself in worlds bigger and brighter than our own, and just have fun. You also might find a great community of gamer stoners. So now your online matches will have even more weight to them.
