The Cannabar dispensary in Matawan in Monmouth County is working with Wellness educator RxMaryJade and chef-creator Literally Eat to launch FoodsGiving, a community initiative to provide Thanksgiving meals.
On Tuesday November 25th, the team will distribute ten complete meal boxes. Each is designed to feed a family of ten with all the essentials for a full Thanksgiving dinner. This effort is part of a broader seasonal outreach. The goal is to feed 200 people across New Jersey through November and December.
FoodsGiving began as an alternative to hosting a large Friendsgiving event. Organizers chose to redirect time, resources, and community support toward helping families who need it most during the holiday season.
In addition to the giveaway, Literally Eat will host a fundraising infused dinner on November 22, with proceeds supporting the next round of holiday dinner boxes and contributions to local New Jersey food banks.
“Food insecurity is hitting families harder than ever,” said organizer RxMaryJade. “Rather than hosting another big party, we wanted to create something that directly feeds our community. This is about showing up for people when it matters and not just for likes on social media.”
More details, community involvement opportunities, and December initiatives will be announced soon as FoodsGiving expands its efforts for the winter season.
