Sativa Cross Holds 4/20 Protest at NJ State House for Home Cannabis Gardening Legalization

4/20 NJ Dispensary Sativa Cross Home gardening growing

The medical cannabis advocacy group Sativa Cross held their traditional 4/20 protest at the NJ State House for home cannabis gardening legalization while many consumers and dispensaries are celebrating across the Garden State.

Edward “Lefty” Grimes hosted the show held outside with longtime advocate Jim Miller.

Coalition of Medical Marijuana of NJ (CMMNJ) Executive Director Ken Wolski joined them later to add his perspective.

I noted how, as a stoner everyday is 4/20. It’s also good to celebrate progress with dispensaries across the state with competitively priced products. That includes some from local growers and manufacturers now as well.

Jim Miller noted that it’s still fun to see a gleam of mischief in somebody’s eye on 4/20.

Lefty noted he wanted 7/10 OIL Day to be patient-centered.

It was a very cool, drizzly day, unfortunately in Trenton.

NJ Home Gardening Politics

On their show, Miller explained his time as an advocate for home gardening and the issues over the year.

Lg said he remains hopeful that Governor Mikie Sherrill could make progress on cannabis home gardening legalization with NJ Senate President Nick Scutari (D-22-Union).

“We’re very upset he’s blocking getting the ability to even get home grow an informational hearing in the Legislature,” Wolski noted.

However, Sctuari won’t come out and say why, though. Wolski noted that previously, Scutari had said he wanted the legal NJ adult-use cannabis industry to be established.

“The industry is established at this point, I’d say,” Jeff Indellicati said.

I explained to them that I thought the movement should be rebranded. People garden herbs for medicine while companies grow for profit.

Wolski opposed Grimes’ radical parody Senator Ratari inflatable rat he noted. He believed it antagonized Scutari too much.

“We also want insurance coverage for medical cannabis patients,” he added. “We’re going to have to maintain a working relationship with the Legislature and Governor Sherrill.”

I explained that progress has been made on the medical cannabis home garden bill. That includes bipartisan sponsors that total 11 overall.

Atlantic City Cannabis Fun

Atlantic City has been the hotbed of a lot of Jersey weed fun throughout the 4/20 weekend.

The Bud Crawl, hosted by Party Like it’s Rico, went to several dispensaries across Atlantic City. It began at Sweet Leaf’s and hit many, including Everest, Rolling Green, and AC Leef, among other quality players.*

It ended at 710* and High Rollers dispensary and Lounge. However, due to personal issues, I missed them.

High Rollers and Sunnytien are competing with Boardwalk Empire-style lounges and different fun parties close to the boardwalk on different sides. Plus, there’s supposed to be a boat ride where people can consume tonight.

4/20 Across Jersey and the Region

Dispensaries across New Jersey held their own events and special deals throughout the special day.

Among the many were Baked by the River in Lambertville, along with Jersey Dispensary and Xena Dispensary in Jersey City.

Over the weekend, many Jersey consumers and businesspeople went to The NJ Dispensary Takeover in Edison and the NECANN Pennsylvania Cannabis convention, plus the Billies Awards in Brooklyn.
