The event will feature several speakers prominent in pot news including New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJCRC) Chair Diana Houenou, Executive Director Jeff Brown, and the head of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Wesley McWhite III. In addition, New York State Cannabis Control Board Tremaine Wright will be speaking as well.

In addition, CannaGather NJ will feature Minorities 4 Medical Marijuana (M4MM) General Counsel Jessica Gonzalez, entrepreneur Dasheeda Dawson, Women Grow President Gia Maron, Maryland cannabis entrepreneur Hope Wiseman, M4MM President Roz McCarthy, and Tahir Johnson of the U.S. Cannabis Council.

There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end.

Bridgewater emphasized that the speakers being featured will discuss the latest issues regarding the nascent cannabis market in New York along with New Jersey in-depth since the economies of the two states are so intertwined. He explained those who attend should be serious about getting into the cannabis industry.

He remains angry with African American Chamber of Commerce President John Harmon for claiming there were no Black winners of cannabis licenses when in fact, there were. Bridgewater said it directly led to the failure of several tentative business deals for Social Equity cannabis company license applicants since it seemed to signal to the cannabis industry there would be no Social Equity in the New Jersey cannabis industry. Bridgewater’s outrage over this led him to relaunch CannaGather NJ during this post-COVID era.

Bridgewater was one of the original organizers of CannaGather New Jersey events following the election of Governor Phil Murphy on a pro-cannabis platform in the 2017 election. Previous CannaGather NJ speakers include former Assemblyman and cannabis sponsor Jamel Holley (D-Union) and Brown. The last one was held in June 2019.

Along with the great panelists, CannaGather NJ will feature dinner, refreshments, and great opportunities to network.

However, quite unfortunately, no cannabis consumption will be allowed at the event.
