The NJ Dispensary Takeover cannabis convention recently held at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City had an impressive turnout.

While I could not attend due to a family commitment, many NJ cannabis content creators were on the scene.

NJ Dispensary Takeover Content Creator Reports

Preston Vincent of NJ Dispensary Review made a video posted on Instagram detailing everyone enjoying themselves amidst the vending brands and entertainment across the large space that included a stripper around the Showboat Hotel pool.

“The after party was ok. I didn’t stay for too long… I did hear it was taking like 2 hours for a drink at the bar… don’t know how true that was. Everyone seemed to have fun. No fights or issues with anyone that I saw. Just a good event for the community,” he told Heady NJ.

Preston also praised the Showboat for hosting the party.

The Za Station Podcast was also among the content creators who captured the scene. They told Heady NJ that “the ZA Station Podcast connected with passionate cannabis industry professionals, met some incredible people, captured plenty of pictures and memorable moments, and built valuable relationships with brands, creators, and industry leaders.”

“What stood out most was the spirit of the cannabis community. No drama, no negativity. Just good vibes, genuine conversations, and people coming together to support one another. From networking and sharing ideas to building new relationships and putting brands in position to grow, the event showed what this community is all about,” they added.

“At the end of the day, it’s bigger than cannabis. It’s about the people, the connections, and the community we’re building together,” the Za Station Podcast declared.

While there, they filmed a show at their booth.

The Dispensary Guy Mike Wiehl told Heady NJ in a text that it seemed like there were “93 cannabis brands, over 100 vendors. Crowd was really diverse. Lots of normal people customers there. Lots of Compliant samples and had a water station sponsored by Doobiez.”

Other cannabis content creators were on the scene, like the podcasters Late Night Green/Cough Country News and Battle of Da Lungz.

Fun at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City

Many leading dispensaries, growers, and manufacturers were featured along with many NJ cannabis content creators and influencers.

The Takeover had more people and took up more space than previous parties thrown during cannabis industry conventions at the Showboat like MJ Unpacked.

Several brands were tabling outside the large pool area. Many also enjoyed themselves outside as well.

Notably, the Takeover included a convention, car show, and after-party.

It was spearheaded by Tommy Helou of Doobiez dispensary of West Milford in Passaic County in North Jersey. They have thrown many smaller parties around their dispensary there, including a fun Halloween party.

They held a similar event in Edison over the 4/20 weekend 2026.
