Man in Wolf Mask Robs Nova Farms Dispensary in Woodbury

Nova Farms dispensary robbery

A man wearing a wolf mask recently robbed Nova Farms dispensary in Woodbury in Gloucester County in South Jersey, and was caught quickly afterward.

He seemed to have broken their drive-thru window to get in and steal the cash drawer. Nova Farms dispensary was open at the time. The wolf man intimidated the budtenders working there with a fake gun.

According to the Woodbury Police Department, someone noticed a man in a wolf making fleeing the scene. The police arrived shortly afterward.

An individual named Theodore D. Sparks has already been arrested in connection with the robbery.

He is a local who was charged with robbery, burglary, criminal mischief, theft, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of an imitation firearm, possession of burglary tools, and simple assault.

Sparks has admitted to the crime. He has been sent to the Salem County Jail for now, since it also houses Gloucester County prisoners.

Incidentally, he is said by them to have committed the crime on November 5th, which was indeed a full moon.

The moon, or luna in Latin, was said in the past to make lunatics of men.

Nova Farms was one of the first exclusively adult-use cannabis dispensaries to open in New Jersey. They are a small Multi-State Operator (MSO).

Dispensary Robberies

Federal marijuana prohibition makes many banks wary of handling the money of legal cannabis companies. So, many dispensaries are forced to have a lot of cash on hand.

Legal NJ cannabis dispensaries have a lot of cameras in them, in part to prevent this.

Unfortunately, it’s the sort of thing that has been great ammunition for anti-marijuana lobbyists and their allies. It’s also unfortunate that people seem to really like crime stories in general, which perpetuates the cycle.

There have not been many legal cannabis dispensary robberies reported in New Jersey thus far. They happen elsewhere periodically.
