Brute’s Roots Dispensary and Growing Operations
They have grown into a strong, independent force in the state’s cannabis industry. Co-owned by Kelly Gatto and her fiancé and business partner Jim DiNatale, the company blends passion, experience, and purpose. Gatto oversees administration, retail, marketing, and inventory. DiNatale led the design and build-out of their state-of-the-art 35,000 sq. ft. cultivation and manufacturing facility—along with five greenhouses and two outdoor grow fields. The operation is licensed for up to 150,000 sq. ft. of canopy, and the team is just getting started.
In just two years, Brute’s Roots has launched a wide-ranging product line that reflects their commitment to quality, value, and innovation. Their signature $20 eighth of Sungrown flower, grown under natural sunlight, has become a customer favorite.
Their premium indoor flower consistently delivers high THC potency, and fan-favorite prerolls like the $7 Brute’s Blend 1g and Mafia Wives 5-pack ($29) are go-to staples. On the manufacturing side, their Mafia Melts gummies ($20/10 pack), Mafia Cartels vape carts, and 1g disposable vapes remain bestsellers. Company Background
True to their name, Brute’s Roots is rooted in sustainability. DiNatale is currently developing New Jersey’s first solar field on a cannabis cultivation site. It would be a major step toward fully green operations. With access to well water already in place, the company is pushing boundaries in environmentally conscious cannabis production.
Brute’s Roots is also expanding retail operations with two new satellite dispensaries approved under recently passed legislation. Their second location is already secured and expected to open in Paulsboro, NJ, later this year.
As a family-run business, Gatto and DiNatale have involved their adult children in the company’s evolution and remain deeply committed to giving back. Their goals include supporting local initiatives to offering in-house products 30–40% below market value (with tax included).
